Always working towards new and intuitive ways to present art to the world, we here at Da Fam Inc have introduced “Da Fam Inc Weekend Mix”. This series will feature artists, known and unknown, new and old, all in the name of giving you something to enjoy while you unwind on the weekends. The compilations will be 30 minutes or less and more than likely feature songs that have never been heard or haven’t been heard in a while.
We’re excited to kickoff this series with one of the most talented young artists out of Virginia and Da Fam Inc’s own, JB Da Pilot. In this mix for 3/18/11, JB runs through some of the music industry’s best instrumentals and completely makes them his own. This weekend’s mix is a very special one. The purpose of these mixes is to provide you with something new or something fresh to listen to and hopefully take you on a musical journey like none other. Mission accomplished on this final weekend of March with a fine compilation from the West Coast legend, Nate Dogg. Nate passed away last week and since then there has been a huge wave of support by the hip-hop community and rememberance of his music. Da Fam decided to take it a step further and showcase some of the less popular tunes from the Original Gangster singer that are on the same level, if not greather than his known hits. Sit back, relax, and let our friend from the West Side take you to a better place. May he rest in peace.
Da Fam’s weekend mix for this first weekend of April features none other than Ohio’s own 6S. 6S is a multi-faceted artist that wears her heart on her sleeve and spills it on to the microphone. Whether it’s the uptempo trunk rattler’s or the laid-back instrospective songs, you can be sure you’re getting authenticity within each rhyme. This brief mix features some of 6S’s older tracks that you may or may not have heard, in addition to new material for which the world will soon be hearing. As 6S inches closer and closer to her big day, this is a must have for any old or new fan.
